I started playing the piano at nine years old and then to accordion since my father Aldo use to play accordion when I was a child growing up. There was a time my 4th grade Catholic school class that one of the 12 pupils in my classroom stood up and played his accordion. His name was Gregory Sinclair and I noticed how he instantly became the focus of everyone’s attention. I thought that I had that same advantage since my dad played the same instrument. Born in the Bronx
I was born at Westchester Hospital in Bronx, New York to Aldo Enzo Castello and Victoria Rose Iasoni who were both Italian and also lived in Bronx with many other family members. I have an older brother David. My family picked up and left Little Italy for Boynton Beach, Florida when I was 1 1/2 years old. If you have watched the movie Bronx Tale, that pretty much explains why my father wanted us out of the area. As much as they loved Arthur Avenue and the abundance of family in the area, we were happy to be playing on the sunny beaches of Palm Beach County.
